Dress Up

This "dress" is really just a tube scarf that the girls realized that they could wear like a dress.

Breaking news...

Carmen can now ride a two-wheeler without training wheels!

The fun before the storm

We went to Heritage Park in Canton with Amy & company. The Parks & Rec Department had all sorts of activities setup for the kids. Major storm came in as we were leaving.
Carmen, Katie and Maria all made it to the top of the rock climbing tower!

All quiet on the eastern front

A quiet weekend for us. We made a visit today to Grandma Alice & Aunt Donna.

Grandma is having a garage sale this week but she let the girls in on a presale. They each selected one item which they are showcasing here. Mikey is vacuuming the garage while wearing one of Bruce's hats. It took us a few tries just to get a photo, he's not a hat man apparently :)

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum

We decided to go to Marvin's since it cooled down quite a bit and thought it might be too cool for the wave pool today. Maria won a free pizza and everyone had fun. Marvin genuinely wants to make sure you enjoy your visit.

i should be in bed, but...

Well, it's been awhile since i've done the blog, mike's done a great job keeping it up to date though, hasn't he? here's just a few more from our trip up north last week...

We took the girls putt-putt golfing while gpa bob stayed home with mikey and gma rose was at work. maria got 2 holes-in-one and carmen got one too! mom also caught a frog! the pic of the girls in the tree is from elk rapids as is the one of us all eating ice cream in the street fair.
We had a great week at Crystal Mtn and in TC with mom and dad. did lots of geocaching up north and had the 4th off today so we did some geocaching with grandma paula and grandpa joe downstate too. isabel had a great find in a cemetary today, even before mike fired up the GPS program on the phone, isabel had me lift her up to look in a tree and sure enough, she'd found it!

here's a pic of mikey from geocaching today
and one of he and i from a cache we found up north, "snake eyes" this was easily our most satisfying find to date. it took us about 2 hours on the computer to located the landmarks from arial photos and then about another 1/2 hour to locate where the coordinates were hidden (they had fallen on the ground so it really was a find!) and then another 1/2 hour to hike up to the top of a hill which was a beautiful view but not quite the right way to the actual cache. after the girls had had enough, gma and gpa took them home and then mike, mikey and i walked another path and spent another 15 minutes until we found the cache...it was pretty lame as caches go in the 'prizes' that were in it, but after all that work, just finding it at all was a great reward!

after 3 caches, we went to the mall and then out to eat and back home to visit with some family at grandma paula's. then the girls were dying to see fireworks, so we dropped the boys off at home and off we went. caught the westland fireworks by parking in a mobile gas station about a mile away. it was perfect, easy in and easy out and the girls sat on top of the van. we were appropriately decked out with our gifts from grandma rose, nice socks, eh?
