February Follies

As is the way of this free-to-me blog, my pictures never seem to upload in chronological order, so please join me in a reverse journey through February 2026!

On the very last day of this perfectly aligned month (iykyk), Mike and I had the pleasure of joining great friends for the annual FGR Trivia night. While Table 20 remained fully in the middle of the pack, neither winning a Top 3 prize or even the toilet bowl, we all in Trivia Group D2G2 (Denjas/Dunmires, Gentits/Gabowitzs) were winners because we got to hang out with each other!!

My friend Jill on right below, is volunteer extraordinaire for FGR so we hosted her hubby Jason at our table and she popped over as she was able, since she was running most of the fundraiser!

The morning of Trivia Night I took Lucy and Paulina with me to collect some green for our table, themed Irish.

She insisted on posing with this decorative gun at Hobby Lobby for a photo.

We got a lot of time with the DeVries in February and those lucky ducks got the gift of a family cruise with Tyler's sister/her husband Josh and his parents. Kelly sent us these photos of their first real day in FLA.

Meanwhile before their departure, we enjoyed some sunny snowy babysitting days on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the month. One week I took Lucy for both days and the other, Paulina was my buddy and Peter took the in between week!

Jess stood up in Maria's wedding (roommate from college) and we got to go to the wedding Mass where she married Maria's other college roommate's (Jacinta, now Sister Sophia Grace, MC) brother, Gabe.

Mike's mom talks about how Mike used to hold his dad's nose when he was a baby, so I had to get this pic!

The long President's Day and Valentine's Day weekend, we traveled to Cincy with the two girls to enjoy some QT with the Masons. We got a spa day.
Dinner at Texas Roadhouse
Cyclones Game! (our first hockey game)

Forced Family Fun at their house playing board and card games in between Lucy demanding Avery join her in Roblox.

We also tried Skyline Chili for the first time!

We wanted to do Texas Roadhouse on Valentine's Day but after a 2+ hour wait, we opted for the Mexican place next door. It was lovely and fun!

Honestly? Not a fan. I doubt we'll be back...people from Ohio love this stuff,
which only reinforces how lame people from Ohio can be...

Our first outing was Jungle Jims!
Paulina and friends joined Beloved for Talitha Koum
As we do each year, we made quilts for the HVCS auction. Both 2nd and 6th Grade did an Alphabet/Noah's Ark quilt - 2nd grade made the most money $250 vs $50
We also made a quilt for Mrs. Beaudet whose classroom theme is always Bee, the 2nd graders wrote affirmations for her first baby, due in May, like "Bee Holy" or "Bee Sweet" ~ we will present their lovely artwork quilt to her at a baby shower in March before her departure for maternity leave.

We got to take the leftovers home after our visit to Grandma Paula's and everyone was happy to have them for lunch the next day!

Carmen & Nate sent us a pic from one of their many Irish adventures one weekend!

Mateo joined us one weekend and Mike and I caught Solo Mio, a fun romantic comedy.

Making Grandma Paula's Day just like she makes ours every Sunday!
