Summer Moments

Maria and I took everybody downtown for ice cream one morning - Lucy loved it!

A few random shots from Sundays at Grandma Paula's

I found out about a camp Sancta Maria from some other Catholic moms on Facebook. Intrigued as they take campers starting at age 8, I inquired if they would offer Peter a scholarship - he got one! And so the "middle kid" got to do something first - sleepaway camp in Gaylord, MI with daily Mass, a seminarian for a camp counselor and even a trip to Mackinaw Island!

This is Lucy's little area where she often plays with toys. For whatever reason she became enamored with the TV during Jeopardy one night, it cracked me up!
One Saturday all the big girls had plans and Mike took the boy to see the cars at Concours de Elegance. I took the little girls to Greenfield Village on a truly perfect mid-70s sunny day!

That same weekend Mateo had a birthday party in Ypsilanti. I texted my co-worker Kelly who recently had a baby, Eleni, and luckily she was free so we had an impromptu baby and beer date while I waited to pick him up. We sat on her porch on another perfect summer day!

Summer Traditions with Grandma Rose and Grandpa Bob

Ever since Grandma Rose and Grandpa Bob have been in Brighton we have made the effort to attend the Michigan Philharmonic when they play at Kensington Metropark. Grandma and Grandpa put together an amazing picnic dinner and we hang out and enjoy the tunes.
A little overcast but no rain!

Another event that grandma and grandpa have been generous enough to fund for us the last few years is EMU Tigers Night! The first year we took the biggest girl and boy, then Carmen and Peter, then Isabel and Mateo and this year Maria and all 3 boys came along - Paulina says next year is definitely HER turn.
