Well I finally hit some down time at work and decided what better to do with my time than update the blog. Sigh. Easier said than done because now Safari won't even recognize our blog address and despite Blogger being a google-based browser it does NOT play well with uploading photos from my phone. Still, the entire digital diary is free so I'll stop complaining and get into what I can remember of October from a full 3 months ago...
Last year Paulina begged for this inflatable Axolotl costume and against my better judgement I spent the most I ever have on a Halloween costume. It was a warm Halloween in 2024 so Paulina lasted all of half our neighborhood before she had to switch so I made a mental note to bring it out for something fun to get some use out of it. Well, what better use of the GIANT PINK AXOLOTL costume than following the "pink out" theme at one of the last home games at FGR. It was another hot one this 2025 so I basically roasted for the cause but it was a ton of fun to pass out candy and be a photographic opportunity for a bunch of kids...and kids at heart!!
Rest assured, dear reader, though that I am not, in fact, the WORST MOM EVER because we ended up having two friends sleepover and went to visit the relics of Saint Therese at Shrine of the Little Flower, followed up by a meal at Vinsetta Garage and then shopping at Sephora.
Peter traveled with us for Josh & Jenna's wedding weekend so he could watch the girls during the reception. Lucy and Paulina were wildly jealous of course.
HVCS Fall Fest is a favorite! I ended up having to drag Paulina away because after getting her face painted, she ended up painting faces for others and was having so much fun!
The scarecrows downtown Plymouth are also another annual fav! I think this was just before Carmen and Nate moved to Ireland for an-almost-year!
I did a Catholic group study called "The Search" at St Thomas in Ann Arbor and one of the first nights was on St Therese's Feast Day, I brought a few dozen roses to bless random people with and I had to leave one for Maureen, who was a wonderful mom from our SSA days and who provided communion to us for the first time in the Covid-shutdown. I'll never forget that was our last beautiful interaction.
