Mommy just couldn't do a trip to SC without getting BBQ. Unfortunately Uncle Aaron's favorite BBQ restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and we couldn't really schedule dinner out Tuesday night due to the baptism class that Aunt Maeve and Uncle Aaron needed to attend. So instead, when they got back, Uncle Aaron and mommy went out to Hudson's and got "Pig Out" (vs Pig In) from Hudsons. We got a pound of pork, baked beans, mac n cheese and sweet potato fries. Mommy was in hog heaven with this plate!

Wednesday looked to be our best chance for sun and boy did the big guy deliver! We had a nice loooong trip to the beaches in Charleston. First we hit the Isle of Palms...

After about an hour on the beach, we hit the Banana Cabana for a YUMMY meal out on the back patio. Aunt Erin got a delicious shrimp, sausage and steak platter with black beans and rice and hush puppies. Aunt Maeve got yummy shrimp quesadillas and jachima slaw. Mommy got the big dip and Maria got a virgin daquiri and a delicious grilled cheese with season fries.
After our yummy lunch we hit the small strip of tourist trap gift shops and got a few souveniers for the other girls. Maria just hadn't gotten enough beach though, so she requested we go back out in the sun. We decided to hit Folley Beach and drove there to spend about another half hour. Folley Beach had a great selection of sea shells and even a few jelly fish...ew. As you can see, it was an awesome day for the beach!

On our way home (a 2 hr car ride) poor little Peter threw up twice. At first mommy thought it might be car sickness or the spinach dip and guacamole he had for lunch, but after we got home, we realized it was probably too much sun! Poor little man is awfully red as you can see here! Aunt Erin cracked open Aunt Maeve's aloe plant and we lathered him up with the good stuff and he was in great spirits before he went to bed tonight, even taking another turn pushing cousin Kendall in her little swing!

I'll have to upload some videos when we get home (Aunt Maeve's internet connection is too slow!) because we got some great clips of the ocean waves, Peter eating the sand and Peter crawling like mad on the sand. He really, really enjoyed the beach. He is a boy after his mama's heart, that's for sure! We couldn't have asked for a better day. It was so nice to be with Erin and Maeve and Kendall all day, the weather was awesome, the babies were pretty darn cooperative and it was just a great way to end our short trip!
