a cat and his boy

For reasons known only to God, Pablo has bonded with Mateo in a very special way.
Pablo is a pretty friendly cat anyways but despite having several people to choose from he clearly prefers Mateo company to others when he has a choice.
Every night, despite having slept most of the day, Pablo will jump up in the top bunk with Mateo and sleep with him all night. He will meow at the door to get in and wander around if Mateo is not home.
Last May when Pablo was just a kitten we had a house blessing with a house full of people and Mateo went downstairs with Pablo and fell asleep. I took this picture because neither of them woke up when the priest threw holy water on them both.
I suppose Pablo considers Mateo a cat because he also grooms him by licking his hair?
Fortunately Mateo does not reciprocate but for his part he does share his food with Pablo who seems to like "people" food.
