Technically some of these pictures are from December since my last post was a bit early. My very kind best friend hosted us for the third year in a row for Paulina's birthday and lucky us even Joe and Katie stuck around to celebrate with us.
Lucy lost her first tooth! Like literally lost it...we're pretty sure she swallowed it with some ice cream she had at grandma Paulas!Prior to the party we made some cookies - Lu sure loves being shirtless...lol
I was also able to take a quick visit with the girls to visit grandma Alice. We brought her calendar and as always she let Lucy take home a bingo prize! My dad flew into Grand Rapids so we could also make a five-generation visit with Rosie. That same weekend I was able to get over to visit Tara with dad so we could watch the first half of the Lions Playoff game - we went back to DeVries to watch the second half and a Lions win!!
These are two separate snows. Both times the bulk of it was gone within a few days. Mother Nature in Michigan has been pretty bi-polar the last few years it seems! It snows and snows a bunch and then that's followed by a few days of really warm temps and/or rain that washes the winter wonderland away.
The bishop came for Catholic Schools Week! It was so lovely how he interacted with the kids.
We also went to Middle School Basketball night at FGR. The girls won (they are undefeated 17-0 as I type) but unfortunately boys lost. Still it was nice to see two of my favorite seniors play their last home game.
Lucy let her brother blow out her last candle and make a wish too!
We had a lovely party for the girls and friends at Splitz Gymnastics. Instead of presents we had everyone bring a wrapped stuffie and we had a mystery stuffie "pass the parcel" game that ended with tears just as it does on the episodes of Bluey. Ah well, it seemed like a fun idea...lol
I worked with the girls' classes again to make fabric squares for an auction project. The 4th grade did the Mysteries of the Rosary and the Kindergarteners made Fruits of the Spirit!
Because of snow days the boys final basketball tournament was delayed but in a lovely blessing SSA and HVCS ended up playing the championship game at FGR. There were lots of alumni still home on break and I got to snap a pic with my two favorite seminarians that I pray for every day!! Dominic on the left was Mateo's Mass buddy waaaaaay back when and his family remains good friends to us and Seppe on the right graduated with Carmen and turns out was actually really good friends in high school with the guy Carmen in currently dating...small wonderful Catholic world.
The girls and I got to stay after Grandpa Bob's weekend visit to babysit Rosie on Monday since Kelly was in Florida for her birthday. She and Lucy are birthday buddies!!
Grandma Alice gets to meet her great-great grandchild and Rosie gets to meet her great-great Grandma!
Lucky me. 2024 started with celebrating UM winning the National Championship with my favorite football players ever!! I had the best time watching the game with all these guys!
I found some old paper hot air balloon "luminaries" and while 2/3 went down right into the lake we managed to get one up, up and away!
Celebrating Christine!
