March Madness

The 3-day basketball tournament came down to the Cardinals and Saint Mary's Wildcats.
An all-Catholic grudge match in which the girls played their hearts out but ended up with 2nd place. (Maybe since they were playing Saint Mary's the Memorarae was the wrong prayer to pray at half time when they were within 2 points?!?!)

Even Sister John Dominic, the principal, was able to make it to cheer the girls on!
Look at all the Paparazzi!
One of Isabel's dearest friends, Grace Lane, and her cheering section sign!

It was 20 years ago today

It was 20 years ago today that by "chance" Leighanne and I went out for the first time. We definitely would not have called it a date at the time (Our first official date being about two weeks later to a movie at the State Theater in Ann Arbor).
Leighanne had come to my dorm room looking for someone to go to lunch with and unfortunately for her none of my three roommates were there but she kindly went out to eat at the EMU dinning commons with me anyways. I certainly can't remember what we talked about or what we ate but I do remember us both being very pleasantly surprised by the other.
We both lived in the same dorm, Goddard Hall. She being on the forth floor and me being on the third and were both vaguely aware of the other but on that day we had made a very special connection that we still share to this day, 20 years and 7 kids later.
