Who knows what started it but Peter puts on his saddest face he can muster and says to Mikey, "See this!" pointing to his heart. "You broke my heart!" Dillon asks what we can do to fix it and Peter says, "You can't pix it. It's broken! It will just pix itself." So cute.
In other news we have been working on potty training Peter with some success and some failures. Let's just say it is not his number 1 or number 2 priority. He is doing well with number and letters though and LOVES to do puzzles, play with the various train sets and play games on the computers.
Mateo continues his endless quest for discovery and destruction. He has certainly gotten the lions share of bumps, bruises and cuts. More than all of our kids combined but nothing serious. His Guardian Angel is still quite busy. It is good that he is so cute!
Mikey is doing very well in school and with reading. School has brought out his best qualities but we are looking forward to getting him involved with some extra curricular activities although he loves to play with his many schoolmates during and after school.
Isabel achieved another quarter of all straight A's. Her teacher, Mrs McCoy always has great things to say about her and what a great class leader she is, showing the other kids you can work hard and still have fun. So great that we often wonder if she is talking about the same Isabel. :) She is also an avid reader and will read just for fun! Later this Spring she will be doing Girls on the Run, An after school cross country running programs for girls in grades 3-5.
Carmen also achieved all A's and B's (Honor Roll) this quarter and her teachers also have great things to say about her. Mrs Hood (formerly her 3rd grade teacher Miss McCann) is also Carmen's JV basketball coach. Carmen is still not sure if she wants to play basketball or not (though we know she would be good) but she definitely wants to be the coaches helper and Mrs. Hood graciously agreed.
She opened some of her birthday presents early including the comfy pants from Aunt Maeve and Uncle Aaron pictured above, which she has been wearing non stop! Also a camera from Grandma Rose and Grandpa Bob which she has used to take some of these photos. I am hoping she gets bit by the camera bug too :)
Maria worked hard to get all A's this quarter including Midterm exams which are new to her in 7th grade. She has finished reading all the Nancy Drew series and started the Hardy Boys. She went to work with mommy on Friday and got put to work stuffing envelopes and doing other projects. She is still working on her confirmation program through Christ the King and has participated in several Catholic "girl power" events recently, including an ENDOW
Girl Genius program through Our Lady of Good Counsel, the
Good Girl Comeback and another ENDOW program scheduled in early February.
