Graduationpalooza!

So moms are learning too and after Maria's graduation, I learned that taking days off is way smarter than feeling stressed about missing moments, etc. So I planned to take both Thur/Fri off before Carmen's graduation. On her last day of obligations at school, we went to SCA for the "clap out" and then the 5 girls and I went to Greenfield Village for some fun. It turned out to be a really nice day...even if everyone wasn't as enthusiastic as I was :)

This is how Lucy does the carousel: equal parts terror and delight! on the left she has her hands over her ears, squeezed as tightly to me as she can be; on the right, delight and bouncing to the music!
No line for the cars so we got a ride!
I promise despite our group selfie, Lucy had a wonderful time!
Mateo is in 2nd Grade and they always have a Sister for a teacher in a sacramental year so they all got to visit the Motherhouse with Sister Gabriella!
Mateo said the best part was beating the Sisters in soccer!
Katie, Carmen and Isabel took advantage of a gorgeous day (and their gorgeous youthful good looks) and did a photo shoot. STUNNING!

Grandma Paula's birthday was the Friday before graduation so since I had the day off the girls were able to take her out to lunch!

Graduation pics are clearly out of order but we do what we can. LOL The day started out pretty dreary and overcast, but by the time the ceremony was over, it was BEAUTIFUL!
This is a group pic of the 60 seniors from after their senior breakfast (the day we went to GFV).

The graduation Mass is on Friday the evening before graduation and then the ceremony on Saturday.
The Fab2: Carmen and her bestie, Katie G "the other" Katie whose middle name is definitely not "is"

The adoring fans in the audience!

Paulina found this random wand in the bleachers at graduation...perfect!

Being the adult she is she tried a sip of bourbon and a cigar. Not for her...

Maria with her friend Mary from high school and Tyler. Tyler and Maria were kind enough to keep Lucy at the condo while we all went to the ceremony. Mary came over for a quick visit/walk.

After graduation, grandma Rose and grandpa Bob were kind enough to take us all out to Bar None for a late lunch/early dinner. It was an awesome meal and Carmen's boyfriend, David, joined us too!

After the meal, we all went back to the condo to eat cupcakes and play outside until Carmen had to go back to school for Mass and the Senior All Night party.
