hoedown

every year tom monaghan opens up his home for a "hoedown" before school to raise money for the schools. this was the first year we were able to attend. isabel had her last round of dental work in the morning, so she opted to stay home with daddy, but mikey, carmen, maria and mommy had a good time. there was a nice big picnic, a four story tree house, pony rides, cloggers and a bluegrass band, a trampoline, face painting, balloons, etc.

mikey enjoyed the pony ride and called the pony a "gatito" or spanish for kitty...well, sort of...

isabel was a very brave girl at her last round of dentistry. it wasn't entirely pretty, but after going to sleep in the chair and pretty much freaking out when she awoke, she calmed down and was very brave while they finished the crown. she's all done for now and just needs to get checked in october for her front teeth that were knocked askew. after our appointment we went to target and got this baby set she's been dying for in reward for her bravery.

mikey has been fighting a fever/summer cold/flu the past few days. ugh. he has been up nursing every hour at least and i haven't had any REM or deep sleep to speak of in two days...pray for the whole family because me without deep sleeep = more irritable than usual if you can even imagine it! he is in pretty good spirits though, so that's good, but has gotten the chills a few times and it's so pathetic to see him shaking but also 101 degrees! poor baby. i got him a new trike that peddles like the flinstones, so as soon as i can, i'll get some pics of him on that. he's not too sure of it and keeps climbing on, saying 'no' (to himself) and then climbing back off again. and repeating this procedure...

maria sprained her finger jamming it into a wall the other day, so that's her latest complaint. it's doing much better though as she can bend it now.

carmen is just riding her two wheeler wherever she can and just lost another tooth so that's her latest news...

okay, off to enjoy grandma Paula's yummy chicken soup before Mass.
